At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology, one or more Postdocs in Computer Vision are open for appointment from 1 of November or 1 of December 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The duration of the position is two years.


The successful candidate will be hosted by the Visual Analysis and Perception Lab. You can read more about VAP LAB in Aalborg - an internationally recognized lab working on different aspects of AI. Focus has previously been on visual data but has recently been expanded to cover also other data modalities including textual data.

About the position

We are looking for one or more postdocs to further advance the research excellence in the Visual Analysis and Perception Lab at AAU (vap.aau.dk). The postdoc(s) will contribute to state-of-the-art research in computer vision, with a particular focus on one or more projects in the following areas: underwater vision, multimodal architectures, and computing for responsible AI.

 

Your competencies

  • PhD in computer vision (mandatory)
  • Strong English communication skills (mandatory)
  • Experience as main author in peer-reviewed scientific publications (mandatory)
  • Strong programming skills in Python and deep learning frameworks (mandatory)
  • Documented expertise in one or more of the three project areas mentioned above (mandatory)
  • Experience with research collaborations beyond academia (desirable)
