Join an ambitious and collegial research environment at Aalborg University Business School, where collaboration, analytic depth, and strong academic ambitions shape our work. We are looking for scholars who wish to contribute to developing research and teaching in strategy and management within the Strategy, Organization, and Management Group at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. The positions are full-time and permanent, with employment beginning on 1 June 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Your work tasks
As an associate professor in strategy and management, you will contribute to advancing the group’s research profile through independent, high-quality publications in international journals and active participation in collaborative research activities. You will take part in shaping and delivering teaching in strategy, management, and related areas at both bachelor’s and master’s levels, including the development of new course content, supervision of project groups, and guidance of these. The position involves mentoring early-career colleagues, contributing to the development of new research initiatives, and taking a leading role in securing external research funding. You will also be involved in assessment tasks, academic committees, and other forms of service that support the business school’s research and teaching environment. The role includes maintaining and expanding your own research agenda while contributing constructively to the overall academic community.
Your competencies
We are seeking a colleague with a strong and well-documented research profile in strategy, management, or closely related fields, demonstrated through publications in recognized international journals. You should have solid experience with university-level teaching and supervision, and a proven ability to contribute to curriculum development in strategy or management. We value candidates who combine methodological strength, whether qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods—with the ability to collaborate across projects and disciplines. A constructive, collegial mindset is important, as is a commitment to supporting students and contributing to a positive academic environment. Experience with attracting external funding, engaging in research collaborations, or supervising junior researchers is considered an advantage, but we welcome applicants who show clear potential for further development in these areas.
Qualification requirements
Appointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at the level that can be achieved through the satisfactory completion of a period of employment as an assistant professor but may also be obtained in other ways.
It is a precondition that applicants have documented research at an international standard. In addition, applicants are assumed to have received supervision and pedagogical skills development and to have obtained a positive written assessment of their teaching qualifications.
